Twist.

While Twist has the silhouette of a traditional pendant lamp, it was designed with the intention of altering quality of light with a simple, physical action.

With the rotation of a discrete, wooden knob, thin, white strips twist and tighten around a central axis, perfectly synchronized to squeeze together and deflate the form, changing the amount of light allowed to escape. A twist in the opposite direction re-inflates the shade, opening the spaces within the array of strips, and brightening the room once again.
